Maeklong Railway Market, a market within the Samut Songkhram Province, commonly called Siang Tai (life-risking) Market, based on the stalls being attached to the Mae Klong-Ban Laem railway.

Train passes through a crowded market with onlookers taking photos. The train is red and yellow. Sign reads "Train Noodles." Urban setting. Maeklong Railway in Thailand.

The market opened in 1905, and the railway merged in 1907. Those who worked on the market refused to move, so they found a way to work around it. Every time a train comes through, they pack the market away, and unpack it once it's passed. We were stood at the train station platform so we didn't see this as there's only a handful of trains a day, but we were still stood within the market that merges with the platforms.
